passion détruisit mon premier appareil
photo. J'avais 6 ans, j'étais impatiente
et inexpérimentée. L'objet eut une
durée de vie très courte. . .
Depuis lors, j'ai terminé trois
années de photographie à
l'Université de Melbourne où je me
suis concentrée sur le noir et blanc. Ce
fut seulement vers la fin de ma seconde
année que j'ai réellement
entamé la photographie couleur. Je ne me
suis pas sentie très à l'aise avec
le côté technique . . . J'improvise
quand la technique est correcte jusqu'au moment
où la composition, le contenu et la
couleur sont à mon goût.
Mon travail a une connotation religieuse sans
pour autant que ce soit recherché. Je ne
dois pas oublier de mentionner ma plus grande
influence après mes origines polonaises,
monsieur Léonard Cohen.

My
passion killed my first camera. I was six years
old and I think a little bit too eager and
inexperienced. The camera had a very short life
. . .
Since then I have completed three years of
photography at The University of Melbourne,where
i concentrated on black & white photography.
It was only towards the end of my second year
that I started to tackle colour. I'm still not
very concerned with the technical side of it . .
. I "improvise" when it comes to being
technically correct as long as I'm happy with
the final image, the composition, the content,
colour . . .
Most of my work has religious connotations,
though I did not set out to do this. I must not
forget to mention my biggest influence (right
after my Polish upbringing) Mr. Leonard
Cohen.
